Located in Cashmere Washington, Keely started Celia's Salt Creek Apothecary in her kitchen, creating seasonal herbal remedies for her family and friends. Following a path to expand her knowledge of folk herbalism and sustainable living, Keely connects with the land through gardening, growing her own food, and wildcrafting.
Keely's inspiration for Celia's Salt Creek Apothecary is rooted in remote Hell's Canyon, Oregon, where Celia, her great-grandmother, was born. Only seasonally accessible by boat along the mighty Snake River, Salt Creek was the location of a small two-room cabin with no electricity or running water. Celia started her own family in the Salt Creek cabin, carving out a rustic and self-sufficient life. Celia's Salt Creek Apothecary evokes a desire to return to a simpler life close to the earth and rich in folk wisdom. Many of Keely's products are named after real people and places in Hell's Canyon.
Keely is a member of United Plant Savers and the American Herbalist Guild.
